**Intermittent Clashes in Jenin Amid Devastation from Israeli Bombardment**

For the fourth consecutive day, the city of Jenin in the West Bank, whose streets have turned into a ghost town amid widespread destruction from Israeli bombardments, witnessed intermittent clashes.

**Ongoing Operation**

Amid these developments, Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi conducted an assessment of the situation in Jenin today, accompanied by the commander of the Central Command, the commander of the West Bank Division, and other leaders. He also met with the soldiers participating in the campaign.

The official claimed that the Israeli army’s entry into the camps prevents Palestinian fighters from rigging cars with explosives and launching operations anywhere. He asserted that the offensive was intended to target terrorism in the areas where it builds its destructive capabilities, which he deemed extremely important, referring to the military operations in the region that have resulted in dozens of casualties.

He added that his forces would continue to pursue armed elements in the West Bank, moving from city to city and from camp to camp with excellent intelligence, strong operational capabilities, robust air cover, and above all, determined fighters and leaders, according to his claims.

This visit comes as Al Arabiya Al Hadath’s correspondent reported on Saturday that clashes continue intermittently between Israeli forces and Palestinian fighters in the Jenin camp. The clashes are ongoing in the camp’s alleys and in several areas of the city, with snipers deployed on rooftops.

The correspondent also noted the extensive destruction in the city, particularly in the eastern neighborhood and inside the camp, as the Israeli operation continues for the fourth day amid a tight siege. He highlighted the arrival of more Israeli military reinforcements at the entrance to the camp.

The death toll has risen to 20 since last Wednesday, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.

**Impact of Military Operations on Jenin**

**700 Palestinian Casualties**

It is worth mentioning that tensions in the West Bank—occupied by Israel since 1967—have escalated since then, despite previously witnessing intermittent clashes and Israeli incursions.

Since then, around 700 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers and forces, according to Palestinian data.

The attacks by extremist settlers on Palestinian civilians have also increased, prompting the U.S. administration to impose sanctions on several groups.

European countries have condemned the settlers’ violence and warned of its dangers. The European Union has even hinted at imposing sanctions on National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who is considered the primary defender of the settlers’ attacks and violations.
