### After Majdal Shams Strike, Egypt Warns Against Opening a New Front
Following the recent events in the village of Majdal Shams in the occupied Golan Heights, Egypt has warned of the dangers of opening a new war front in Lebanon, which could lead to the region sliding into a comprehensive regional war.
In a statement from its Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted on Facebook, Egypt emphasized the importance of supporting Lebanon, its people, and its institutions, and sparing it the horrors of war.
Egypt also called on influential powers in the international community to intervene immediately to prevent the peoples of the region from suffering further catastrophic consequences from the widening conflict, which could pose a threat to international peace and security.
### Ceasefire in Gaza
Cairo reiterated its warning about the risks of Israel continuing its war on the Gaza Strip, calling for the necessity of reaching an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire to end the humanitarian suffering in Gaza as quickly as possible.
Additionally, the statement emphasized the need to enable the international community to contain the negative repercussions of the crisis on the Palestinian people and on security and stability in the region.
### Israel’s Response and Hezbollah’s Denial
It is worth noting that Israel today vowed to “strike the enemy with force” after a rocket, which it attributed to the Lebanese Hezbollah, killed twelve teenagers in the Golan Heights, raising fears of the Gaza war expanding.
While Hezbollah, an ally of Iran, denied responsibility for the rocket strike on the town of Majdal Shams, Tehran warned Israel that any new military “adventures” in Lebanon could lead to “unpredictable consequences.”
The Israeli military described the incident as “the deadliest attack on Israeli civilians” since the October 7 attack by Hamas that sparked the Gaza war, leading to continuous cross-border exchanges of fire with Lebanon.
Israel accused Hezbollah of launching the rocket, but the group, which targets Israeli military sites daily, stated that it “had no involvement” in the incident.
