**Man Arrested in Arizona After Threatening to Kill Trump**
**Charged with Previous Sexual Crime and Two Counts of Threatening Trump**
The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office in Arizona has announced the arrest of a man wanted for threatening to kill former President Donald Trump via social media. Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, was visiting the county on Thursday to inspect the U.S.-Mexico border as part of his campaign activities.
According to the sheriff’s office, the man, identified as Ronald Lee Seifried, 66, had several outstanding warrants from Wisconsin, which had not yet been executed. Authorities reported that he was detained on Thursday afternoon.
The sheriff’s office added that Seifried is being held in the county jail under a bench warrant from Graham County, Arizona, due to his failure to provide a DNA sample following a previous sexual crime conviction. He is also facing two charges related to threatening to kill Trump. He remains in custody pending further judicial proceedings.
When asked about the threat in Arizona on Thursday, Trump commented, “I’m not surprised. The reason is that I want to do things that people with bad intentions consider very bad.”
This incident is the latest in a series of threats against candidates ahead of the general election scheduled for November 5. Earlier this month, a man from Virginia was charged with threatening Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump’s Democratic opponent, while a New Hampshire man was arrested in December for threatening to kill Republican presidential candidates. In July, a shooting targeting Trump resulted in the wounding of two others and the death of one person.
The Secret Service faced widespread criticism following the shooting incident, which ultimately led to the resignation of its director. Despite the recent threats, Trump stated on Thursday that he holds “great respect” for the Secret Service and their work, noting that they have made mistakes from which they will learn.
