### White House: No One Wants a Broader War

Despite rising tensions following the rocket attack in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights that killed 12 children and adolescents on Saturday, the White House announced that it is “confident” that a wider war between Israel and Hezbollah can be avoided.

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby stated on Monday that American and Israeli officials held talks “at multiple levels” over the weekend following the attack, asserting that the risk of a full-scale conflict is “exaggerated,” according to AFP.

In a call with reporters, Kirby added, “No one wants a broader war, and I am confident that we will be able to avoid such an outcome.”

He continued, “We’ve heard about this full-scale war scenario at various points over the past ten months, and those predictions were exaggerated at the time, and frankly, we believe they are exaggerated now.”

Kirby also emphasized that “Israel has every right to respond to Hezbollah” after the Golan attack.

However, he added that the United States does not believe that this attack should lead to escalation.

**Gaza Talks**

Meanwhile, he stressed that the rising tensions should not affect the ceasefire talks in Gaza.

He concluded by saying, “We do not see any indications at this time, on Monday morning, that there will be a significant impact.”

It is noteworthy that regional tensions escalated following the attack, which Israel and the United States blamed on Hezbollah.

However, Hezbollah denied responsibility for the attack.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged on Monday a “harsh” response during his visit to the bombing site in the town of Majdal Shams.
