*Toyota Launches First Phase of Hydrogen Fuel Cell Project in China**
**Project Covers 44,000 Square Meters**

Toyota Motor Corporation has commenced the first phase of its hydrogen fuel cell research, development, and production project in Beijing, according to local authorities in the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area on Tuesday.

This project is one of the largest foreign investments in hydrogen energy in Beijing and is expected to help accelerate the resolution of challenges related to manufacturing hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and drive the development of the hydrogen energy industry.

The project was launched in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corporation and SinoHytec, a Beijing-based technology company. The facility covers a total area of 113,000 square meters, with 44,000 square meters allocated for the first phase, according to Xinhua News Agency.

The first phase of the project is primarily focused on the research, development, and production of hydrogen fuel cell systems and stacks, with a maximum annual production capacity of 10,000 fuel cell units.

With the launch of the project, the hydrogen fuel cell system “TL Power 150” has become the first product to come off the assembly line. This product has a total rated power of 150 kilowatts, allowing heavy commercial vehicles to operate using hydrogen energy.

Construction of the second phase of the project is scheduled to begin in 2026, according to local authorities.
