**Russia Launches Largest Attack Yet: 200 Missiles Target Ukrainian Energy Facilities**
In the midst of ongoing fierce battles between the two sides, Russia launched around 200 missiles and drones towards Ukraine on Monday, resulting in the deaths of four people.
**Power Outages**
The new assault struck a blow to the already fragile energy network in the country, causing power outages in several regions, according to officials.
This attack is the largest in recent times and comes as Ukraine advances in its offensive that began about three weeks ago in Russia’s Kursk region, where it announced progress on Sunday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed in a video message on Telegram that there was significant damage to the energy sector, explaining that repair work is underway. The national electricity company, Ukrenergo, announced emergency power outages to stabilize the system following the attack, while train schedules were disrupted.
Additionally, explosions were heard in the capital Kyiv on Monday morning, believed to be caused by air defense systems, as residents sought shelter in subway stations, according to AFP reporters.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated that it targeted infrastructure used to support the Ukrainian defense sector.
**Continued Assault**
It is noted that Kyiv had recently managed to destroy three bridges over the Sine River in that region.
The Russian military confirmed that it had halted the expansion of Ukrainian forces. It also announced that it had succeeded in delivering military supplies to the front in northwestern Kursk by constructing floating bridges in various locations along the river. In response to this incursion, Russia launched a violent missile attack across Ukrainian territory.
