**Monkeypox Reaches Jordan: Resident Exhibits Symptoms**

On Monday, Jordan’s Ministry of Health announced that laboratory results confirmed a case of monkeypox involving a non-Jordanian resident in Jordan.

According to a press release received by Al Arabiya.net, the infected individual is a 33-year-old man who displayed symptoms of the infection in the form of a rash. He is currently in isolation at Al Bashir Hospitals and has been diagnosed through a PCR test conducted at the Ministry of Health laboratories. His condition is reported to be stable.

The ministry confirmed its ongoing monitoring of monkeypox and its commitment to transparently report any detected cases. It emphasized its readiness and capability to manage any developments related to the disease according to the pre-established national plan in collaboration with relevant authorities.

It is noteworthy that this is not Jordan’s first case of monkeypox. A previous case was recorded on September 8, 2022, and routine procedures were followed to prevent the spread of the infection, allowing for the patient’s recovery without complications.

The ministry recommended that everyone adhere to health guidelines, especially during travel, through its official channels.
