**Advisor: Harris Will Not Ban Arms Supplies to Israel**

After meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Harris promised that she “will not remain silent” about the “tragedies” in Gaza.

A close aide to Kamala Harris stated on Thursday that the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate is not considering an arms embargo on Israel, a rare declaration from her campaign team regarding her Middle East policy.

Phil Gordon, Harris’s national security advisor, said, “She does not support an arms embargo on Israel.” He added that the Vice President “has made it clear that she will always ensure that Israel can defend itself against Iran and Iranian-backed terrorist groups,” as he put it.

Harris, who benefits from a favorable dynamic in her campaign, faced disruptions on Wednesday caused by pro-Palestinian protesters during a campaign rally. These scenes were common during Joe Biden’s travels before the 81-year-old president withdrew from the race for the White House due to concerns about his physical and mental capacities.

The United States remains by far Israel’s largest military supporter, an issue that divides the Democratic camp, especially since Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza in response to Hamas’s unprecedented attack on Israeli settlements on October 7.

Harris met with anti-war activists in the key state of Michigan, where she hopes to secure a win in the November election against Republican Donald Trump. The state has a significant population of Arab-American residents.

Condemning the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territories, the left wing of the Democratic Party is pushing for a change in direction on this sensitive issue.

In Detroit, pro-Palestinian activists interrupted Harris, chanting, “We won’t vote for genocide!” Harris responded, “If you want Trump to win, keep saying that. Otherwise, I will be the one to speak.”

After her meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Harris promised that she “will not remain silent” about the “tragedies” in Gaza, which has been under siege and continuous Israeli bombardment for the past ten months.

Under Biden’s administration, the White House only suspended one shipment of heavy bombs to Israel, citing concerns for civilian safety.
