### France Suspects Far-Left Involvement in Railway Sabotage

French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin revealed that Paris is leaning towards suspicions that far-left activists may be behind the recent sabotage targeting the railway network operated by the French National Railways (SNCF).

In an interview with France 2 television, Darmanin stated, “We have identified several individuals,” as part of the effort to track down the saboteurs. He added that the tactics used by the saboteurs bear the hallmarks of far-left groups, though he did not provide specific examples.

**Massive Costs**

Transport Minister Patrice Vergriete reported that all trains were back in operation by Monday morning after various teams worked non-stop over the weekend to repair the damage. He also mentioned that the attacks caused disruptions affecting the travel of 800,000 people, with 100,000 of them having their trips canceled.

Vergriete indicated that the cost incurred by SNCF would be substantial.

**Signal Stations Targeted**

The sabotage involved attacks on signal relay stations and cables at critical points along the high-speed rail network before dawn on Friday, leading to significant disruption in train services. This incident coincided with the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.
