### Potential Trump Return Worries Europe: Sources Reveal
The European Commission has formed a special task force in preparation for the potential return of former U.S. President and Republican candidate Donald Trump to the White House. This move comes amidst concerns that such a return could bring about significant shifts in Washington’s policies regarding Ukraine, according to sources cited by the British newspaper, Financial Times.
Brussels has taken this step out of fear that Trump, if victorious in the upcoming presidential election, may impose high tariffs on imports from the European Union, halt military and financial support to Kyiv, and force Ukraine to agree to end the conflict on Russia’s terms.
Furthermore, the sources mentioned that the European Union is also apprehensive about the possibility of Trump withdrawing the United States from NATO or altering the alliance’s collective defense charter for countries that, in his view, allocate insufficient funds to military needs, according to the TASS news agency.
### Biden’s Withdrawal
The U.S. presidential election is scheduled for November 5th.
Current President Joe Biden was expected to represent the Democratic Party in the election. However, following what has been described as a “disastrous” performance in a debate against his Republican rival, Donald Trump, Democratic calls for Biden to withdraw intensified.
As a result, Biden decided to withdraw on July 21st and endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, for the presidency.
