Dozens Killed and Injured in Renewed Israeli Bombing of Gaza
Israeli Airstrikes Target School Sheltering Displaced Civilians and a Residential Building in Gaza

The official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, reported early this Saturday that at least 13 Palestinians were killed and 15 others were injured in Israeli airstrikes and shelling targeting a school sheltering displaced people and a residential building in Gaza.
According to the agency, at least eight of the victims were in tents for displaced people at Halima Al-Sa’diya School in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
The Israeli army stated that it had carried out a precise strike on militants “operating inside a command and control center belonging to Hamas… fortified inside a complex previously used under the name ‘Halima Al-Sa’diya School’ in northern Gaza.”

In a separate incident, five Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza.

The latest wave of bloodshed in the decades-long Israeli-Palestinian conflict erupted on October 7 of last year when Hamas launched an attack on southern Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,200 people and the capture of around 250, according to Israeli statistics.

In response, Israel initiated a military campaign against the Hamas-run Gaza Strip, which has since caused the deaths of more than 40,800 Palestinians, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health. This campaign has also displaced nearly the entire population of the 2.3 million residents of the Gaza Strip, leading to a hunger crisis and accusations against Israel in the International Court of Justice of committing genocide.

The United Nations reports that at least 1.9 million people across the Gaza Strip are internally displaced, with some having been displaced more than 10 times.
