**His Works Toured the World: Artist Who Paints with Human Blood Arrested**
In a shocking incident, U.S. police have arrested a notorious artist in New York City who was found painting with human blood. The authorities also discovered unlicensed weapons and large quantities of drugs in his possession.
The story began when emergency services were called to a house on Wood Street in Tottenville following a report of an unconscious person. They discovered that the individual was 42-year-old Vincent Castiglia, a well-known tattoo artist followed by thousands on social media, according to the “New York Post.”
Police were immediately summoned to the scene. While the artist was receiving first aid, they were informed about the presence of a firearm in his bedroom.
The police stated that officers found a .380 Smith & Wesson EZ handgun with one bullet in the chamber and seven rounds on his bedpost, prompting them to execute a search warrant the following day.
**”Firearms and Ammunition”**
During the search, the police seized additional firearms and ammunition, including a 12-gauge Mossberg shotgun with six rounds in the magazine, hidden inside Castiglia’s bedroom closet.
According to police sources, a .22 caliber KelTec handgun with a large capacity magazine was also seized. Additionally, a .32 caliber Seecamp handgun was found.
Castiglia’s paintings, which have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States and around the world, are entirely crafted using human blood.
**”Monochromatic Paintings”**
He describes his works as “monochromatic paintings that explore life, death, and the human condition,” according to his website. His works are also promoted as a tattoo artist on social media.
Castiglia told the police that he purchased the KelTec handgun and registered it at a shooting range in Florida, but investigations confirmed that he did not have a license to possess firearms in New York City.
He has been charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition and was held on Rikers Island with a $100,000 cash bail. He is scheduled to appear again before the criminal court in St. George next Friday.
