**Russia Intensifies Drone Attacks on Ukraine Following Recent Defeat**

In recent days, Russia has unleashed waves of drones on various regions across Ukraine following a significant setback on August 6, when Ukrainian forces suddenly advanced into the Kursk region, capturing extensive areas.

The Ukrainian Air Force announced on Saturday that it had shot down 24 out of 52 drones launched by Russia in attacks over the past night, targeting eight regions across the country.

**Shahed Drones**

According to a statement on Telegram, 25 Shahed drones (Iranian-made) fell on their own, while three other drones veered towards Russia and Belarus.

Kyiv officials reported that this attack marked the fourth drone assault on the capital within days, with air raid sirens wailing for about four hours. However, all drones targeting the city were successfully intercepted.

Ukrainian air defenses also shot down Russian drones in the Poltava, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, and Dnipro regions in central Ukraine, as well as in Chernihiv and Sumy in the north and Mykolaiv in the south.

**Pokrovsk**

Russian forces have recently intensified their push towards the strategic city of Pokrovsk, a key transportation and railway hub in eastern Ukraine, and have also taken control of the town of Kirovo in Donetsk. Additionally, they have launched the largest wave of aerial attacks across Ukrainian territory.

In response, Ukraine has employed electronic warfare, mobile tracking groups, and air defenses to repel the repeated Russian drone and missile strikes.
